PROJECTS
National Health Facility Assessment
Datharm recently supported the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) in a nation wide Health Facility Assessment as part of the PHC revitalization and strengthening efforts towards improving the performance of Public Health Facilities in Nigeria. We provided the technological framework and applications for data capture and analysis as well as field level support to thousands of assessors in all the 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Health Financing
In our effort to provide visibility to last-mile Healthcare Financing, we developed and deployed a mobile app, BHCPF M&E Tracking Tool in Primary Health Centers (PHCs) to reduce transaction times and improve transparency and accountability in the implementation of Basic Healthcare Provision Fund (BHCPF).
Maternal and Child Health Care
We are currently Technical and Development Partners to Katsina State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (SPHCDA).
Every day, approximately 830 women die from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth and 99% of all maternal deaths occur in developing countries especially in rural areas and among poorer communities. Nigeria loses about 2,300 under-five year olds and 145 women of childbearing age daily. To help reduce maternal and child mortality rate, Datharm is using Mobile Apps and other ICT tools to enhance efficiency of health care service delivery to these women and to aid in outreach to non-compliant patients in rural communities.
Human Resource For Health (HRH)
In an effort towards improvement of the availability and distribution of Primary Health Care (PHC) Human Resources for Health (HRH), we have developed a PHC Centric Human Resource for Health Information System (HRHIS) to track and ensure equitable distribution of Health Workforce in all communities across Nigeria. The system will be used by the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NPHCDA) to strengthen capacity of Human Resource for Health (HRH) policy and planning at national and sub-national levels in the country.
This was done under a catalytic grant secured by National Emergency Maternal and Child Intervention Centre (NEMCHIC) from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) titled: “Optimizing Human Resource for Health and Improving the Quality of Care (QoC) for Reproductive, Maternal, New-born, Child, and Adolescent Health + Nutrition (RMNCAH+N) services at PHC level in Nigeria”
EDUCATION
Our education project, “EduBreeze”, provides tracking and monitoring software tools for the Government, Development Partners and Policy Makers. It is aimed at enhancing transparency and helping education management initiatives, especially in areas with lower indices in enrollment, attendance and academic performances. Our systems goal is to:
- Identify students who are at risk academically and point out areas where intervention measures are needed to improve the student’s academic status at an early stage
- Ensure accurate data of teachers is readily available and help track the induction, training and professional development of teachers. Furthermore, it will enable the ministry to develop needs-based career development programs for teachers in an effective and efficient manner
- Ensure accurate education data is collected, collated and reported to all stakeholders in a meaningful manner and within a reasonable time-frame for effective decision making and strategy development
